Biodatasheet is a Software system to compose, elaborate, modify and share protocols, datasheet, MSDS or any other document related to a product. Internet browser based, the database is stored in a intranet or an internet web-server, and clients can browse, create, and manage documents with a very simple interface.
Using a simple but efficient workflow based on Super-Template->Template-> Documents, Biodatasheet store all data in a database and can create on request the desired documents if already saved or help in creating a new one in a short time.

In a simple schema, Biodatasheet works in this way:
 Supertemplate (the document cover, the first page, Company image and main Company data [dynamic])
Templates (smart text, variable values, library, images)
Documents (variable values, images, library, PDF publishing)
Supertemplate = Typically the first page (the cover) of all documents associated to the template that itself is associated to the super-template. The super-template is used to insert the company logo, header and footer on all pages. Changing it and having a variable value defined as [CompanyName] the user is able to create an OEM copy of all requested documents, also changing the graphic aspect of the final document.
Template = A common schema (chapter number, chapter content) used in future documents of the same type (e.g. Kit elisa, or recombinant protein). All products that have something in common will be based on the same template.
Smart text = A text typed in a template, with or without variable values that will be repeated, as typed, in all documents based on that template
Variable value = A value typically used many times in a template smart text, that assumes a real value during the document creation (so different for each document, but same for a template). Declaring a variable when a document is created, using smart text allows for change to the final document.
Template for protocols, easy and fast
The Template is the most important step in BioDataSheet. A good template can save a lot of time; define chapters, titles, and for all common text also chapter content. All this will be replicated in the final document. The Chapter content is defined as "Smart Text" for this reason and because it can contain "Variables", or better part of text that changes when declared in the final document; so a text like: My name is [NAME], declaring the name variables the document will change automatically. Smart Text is a powerful piece of code that is replicated in the final document. It is no longer necessary to copy and past from different documents (which version I'm coping now? is this the latest one? who made this?) The chapter template has one unique text approved and for sure the latest one, and it replicates every time you need a new document or a new version of the same document. Moreover, Smart text can contains "Variable Values", pieces of text or entire chapters that change when declared in the final document. In this way, and entire chapter can be a variable [Molecule Description], and when you produce the final document, getting the real molecule description from the BioDatasheet Library, your final document amgically are ready to be publish with the correct Molecule decription, each document different, in seconds!

Using the powerful editor, Biodatasheet helps in having a standard images nas symbols use in the company. There is an internal image repository containing e.g. all the IVD and CE symbols to use in your IVD products, standard image table about the meanings of symbols, and you can add your own image that from that moment will be available for all users.
